Winners

daffodils

Time to pick the winners of my holiday giveaway. As promised, I split them into two lists and then used the random number generator. The winner of the Jammie Dodger pack is HazelEyes and the Happy Orange pack goes to Trekky. Congratulations! I’ll be in touch soon to get your addresses.

Here also is a photo of my first bunch of daffodils of 2012. Daffodils are my favourite flower so I always grab them as soon as I see them pop up in the shops. Seems a bit early this year though, but at least they’re brightening up the dark mornings.

Some things of note

I have clearly been on holiday too long as I opened Illustrator the other day, made the above pattern almost on autopilot and totally love it. Hopefully I can learn how to do that while sleeping too.

I posted some end of year lists over at diskant i you want to know my favourite records, films, books, zines and events of 2011. The other lists are a good read too.

All my shops are open again and shipping is back to normal as of tomorrow.

Speaking of diaries, they are all sold out, hurray! I hope you’re all enjoying filling them in. There will be another edition in the Autumn to start in 2013, but if anyone needs a custom one starting on another month this year, get in touch and I can work out a price for that.

My Sew Cute rainboots are also starting to sell out worldwide so if you fancy a pair you’re running out of time. UK sizes 5 and 6 are all gone everywhere. I’ve got a few in size 7 and 8 and there are some size 4s available from Plueys.

In other shop news, my Folksy store now only accepts orders from UK buyers and has free shipping. My Etsy and DaWanda stores have free shipping within the EU and everyone else will pay a small shipping fee. This has made things so much easier for me and since most of my orders from those shops are for one item, hopefully it makes things easier for you too. I think I’m keeping shipping separate on my main shop though, so if you’re planning a big order, that’s probably the best value for combined shipping. Wow, that was boring.

Don’t forget, the end of year sale is still running, and so is the giveaway!

Stockist Update

Have you noticed I updated my stockists page? There are so many new stores selling my products, I’ve given the page a facelift so it’s easier to browse. Here are a few recent additions for you to check out.

Tamtokki is a brand new shop in Bordeaux and my first French stockist. It’s a really cute store and I’m proud have my gift wrap sitting alongside products by Shinzi Katoh, Momiji and Decole!

Quirky Boutique is closer to home, an online store based in Liverpool. They have some great gifts on offer, including a selection of my stationery.

And finally, Tania Holland Gallery is in Bridgnorth near Birmingham – if you’re in the area do pop in to browse the art and handmade gifts, including a range of my items.

Cookie Cute Ornament

Cookie Cute Christmas Ornament by marcelinesmith

Big thanks everyone who voted for my cookie in the Spoonflower contest. He came in fourth! Spoonflower sewed up all the top ten designs and doesn’t he look adorable? I think I need to order some. Is it worth me buying extra to sell? Leave a comment if you might want one.

You can also buy the pattern direct from my Spoonflower shop for just $5.

Giant Bunnies, and more

Giant Bunnies!

We found this family of giant bunnies outside Spitalfields Market in London – aren’t they ace? My new life motto is, ‘you can never go in the wrong direction; you can just find some giant bunnies instead’. While we were technically going in the wrong direction for the Renegade Craft Market, I was even happier with giant bunnies and a spot to eat the giant brownie we’d just purchased. Renegade was cool, but I forgot to take any photos, and didn’t buy anything, so maybe have a look at Kim from Finest Imaginary’s blog post instead. Legoland still to come – I’m waiting on my sister’s photos of me being an idiot.

In other news:

1. We got over 25 Likes on Facebook so go enter the giveaway to win a half-size Busy Bee Organiser.

2. Keep the Pocket Ghosts giveaway entries coming! In the interests of fairness (especially since my own mother entered!), I’ve not clicked any of the links yet. I’ll open them all up on Friday and pick my favourites and then see who posted them. I will say that I already own this adorable t-shirt so try again!

3. The Moon was ginormous last night. I wished I could show you what it looks like through my little telescope and actually I kind of can! My photo is a bit fuzzy but still, THE MOON.

Popularity Contest

Facebook

So, I gave in and started an Asking For Trouble Facebook page. Obviously, we’re looking very unpopular at the moment so it would be awesome if you would Like it. I’ve already got some little treats set aside for giveaways when I get 25, 50 and 100 Likes so get to it – the sooner you like us, the more chances you’ll have to win a prize!

In other news, all my parcels are arriving in the wrong order! I have Christmas cards and 2012 calendar magnets, but my badges, gift wrap sets and secret publications that shipped before those are still to turn up. Sometimes I hate my postman (that is, pretty much every day except Sunday).
