Box of Delights

By Marceline | November 25, 2008

Box of Delights exhibition

Gosh, I have been very very busy with this over the last few weeks. I’ve been helping organise the above exhibition, a joint venture between the Glasgow Craft Mafia and Ricefield Arts and Cultural Centre. All the work is Asian inspired and the exhibition is based on the concept of Ushigokoro, whereby each artist gets a box in which to display their items in any way they please. So, today we had a box decorating party and everyone brought their stuff along and figured out the best way to display it in a box.

This is a bit of my box. Excuse the grainy photos throughout - it gets dark very early these days. It’s got a brand new exciting batch of my felt flower brooches with Japanese fabric buttons, my geisha gocco prints and some badge sets made with bunny paper from Kyoto.

There’s lots more photos of the party and the other boxes over on the Flickr group so do have a look. I’ll definitely have some better photos once the exhibition opens. Speaking of which, there is a special Open Weekend this very weekend where you can have a browse and a biscuit and also get 10% off everything in the exhibition! Bargain! After that, it runs through til December 23rd.

All the info is right here. Hope to see you there!
