Drawing buttons

buttons

Anyone who has been following my twitterings (see right sidebar) will know I have spent the last few days drawing buttons. And here they are! One reason why I am drawing buttons, I would think is perfectly clear from the picture above – they’re so pretty! The other reasons are being turned over in my head – I like to really think about stuff before I press on, and there are lots of lovely ways I could use these button drawings. The more observant of you will have noticed I have picked lots of buttons that look like flowers. There is a reason for this!

buttons!

These are some of the actual buttons. I have so many amazing vintage buttons and it’s hard to give some of them up to being part of brooches or purses. Hopefully drawing them will make the parting easier.

These are just stunning! I think the drawings show the intricate details of the buttons. Would love to do embroideries of these drawings.

I have a slight obsession with buttons, I have a nice collection of vintage glass ones.
    Your drawings are lovely
